BJP Holds Massive Maha Dharna at Indira Park Alleging Congress’ Failure to Deliver Promises
Accusing the Congress government of deceiving the people with unfulfilled promises over the last two years, the Telangana BJP staged a massive Maha Dharna at Indira Park on Sunday. The protest drew large crowds, including party workers, citizens, and representatives of various public organizations, turning the entire area into a political hotspot.
Senior BJP leaders sharply criticized the Revanth Reddy-led government, alleging that none of the promises made during the elections, especially those to farmers, unemployed youth, women, employees, and persons with disabilities had been implemented.
Kishan Reddy slams Congress for “Deceptive Governance”
Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, addressing the gathering, said that the Congress made grand promises before elections but ignored them after coming to power. He accused the government of indulging in propaganda, misdirection, and “governance limited to publicity stunts.”
Kishan Reddy also alleged that the Congress government was following the BRS model of selling land to run the state’s finances. “Like the previous government, this regime is surviving by disposing of lands. The burden is increasing on the public while the economy is deteriorating,” he said, warning that the government would soon face people’s wrath.
He called on the public to question Congress MLAs and ministers about the unimplemented guarantees and demanded a strong people’s movement to “wake up” the state government.
“Congress guarantees a total failure”: Dr. K. Laxman
BJP Rajya Sabha MP and OBC Morcha national president Dr. K. Laxman alleged that none of the six Congress guarantees had been implemented. He said the promises made by Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and CM Revanth Reddy before the elections had turned out to be “complete deception.”
“Congress is famous for its style of guaranteeing everything during elections and delivering nothing afterwards. Not a single promise has been fulfilled,” he said, accusing the ruling party of cheating voters.
MP DK Aruna accuses Congress of misleading the public
Mahabubnagar MP DK Aruna criticised the Congress government for “pushing people into distress” with false promises. She said the six guarantees were nothing more than political traps.
The MP also pointed out that the Chief Minister, while touring districts for upcoming local elections, was again trying to mislead voters. Responding to his call to “vote based on development,” she said:
“Yes, people should vote based on development—but that development was funded by the Central government. Voters must remember this.”
She urged citizens to support BJP candidates in the forthcoming local body elections.
“The fight will continue until Congress Is ousted”: N. Ramchander Rao
BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao, speaking at the dharna, expressed anger over what he termed “anti-people governance” by the Congress. He vowed that the BJP’s fight would continue “until Congress is removed from power.”
He accused the government of attempting to forcibly acquire farmers’ lands under Pharma City and engaging in large-scale land sales similar to previous BRS practices. “Today, these lands are being diverted to real estate lobbies,” he said.
Ramchander Rao reiterated that none of the Congress’ six guarantees or 420 election promises had been implemented—be it fee reimbursement, Aarogyasri payments, employee salaries, pensions, unemployment allowance, farmer support, or assistance to women.
Allegations of corruption, minority appeasement, and law-and-order breakdown
Rao alleged a rise in corruption under what he called “CM & Brothers’ model of governance.” Telangana was not “rising” but “sinking,” he remarked.
He accused the Congress of ignoring temple land encroachments, failing to act on attacks on cow protectors, and allowing divisive speeches. He also said law and order and the education sector had deteriorated.
He further claimed that “urban Naxalism” was gaining ground in Telangana and warned that the BJP would eliminate it if elected.
Highlighting Central government contributions—NH expansion, AIIMS, Vande Bharat trains, Tribal University, and the revival of Ramagundam Fertilizer Plant—he asserted that Congress would face strong public rejection soon.
Rao condemned alleged intimidation of sarpanch candidates in villages, calling it proof of Congress “dictatorship.”

The protest saw participation from BJP state president Ramchander Rao, MPs Dr. K. Laxman and DK Aruna, MLCs Malku Komaraiah and Anji Reddy, MLA Krishna Reddy, and several other leaders. Massive crowds of party workers expressed anger against the government, voicing support for the BJP’s demands.
