BJP Chief Nitin Nabin Begins West UP Visit Ahead of 2027 Assembly Polls

BJP national president Nitin Nabin began a two-day visit to western Uttar Pradesh on Monday as the party intensified its organisational preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections.

Nabin’s visit, covering Meerut and Saharanpur on September 21 and 22, is focused on reviewing booth-level preparedness, strengthening the party’s grassroots network and interacting with BJP leaders, elected representatives and workers.

The BJP organised a distinctive welcome for Nabin at a toll plaza near Meerut, where several bulldozers were decorated with garlands and posters carrying his pictures. Bulldozers have become associated in Uttar Pradesh with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s tough law-and-order image.

Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary welcomed Nabin and said his visit would provide an opportunity for direct dialogue with workers and help strengthen the organisation ahead of the polls.

According to Chaudhary’s office, Nabin is scheduled to meet senior leaders, MPs, MLAs, office-bearers and grassroots workers during his visit. In Meerut, he will participate in a youth interaction and a Shakti Kendra conference, besides holding organisational meetings with current and former public representatives and party functionaries.

Around 4,800 Shakti Kendra convenors and mandal presidents from western Uttar Pradesh are expected to attend the main organisational programme.

Chaudhary said the BJP’s priority was to ensure that every worker understood their role and responsibility, adding that Nabin’s direct interaction with the cadre would provide fresh momentum to the organisation.

Nabin will travel to Saharanpur on Tuesday, where he is scheduled to hold organisational meetings and visit the Maa Shakumbhari Devi temple.

Nabin was elected unopposed as the BJP’s national president in January this year, succeeding J P Nadda.

His visit comes amid increased political activity in western Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 polls. BJP ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has also launched its ‘Swabhiman Padyatra’ in parts of the region.

Western Uttar Pradesh has 71 Assembly constituencies, making it a significant region in the state’s electoral landscape.
