
BJP chief Nitin Nabin, 15 others take oath as Rajya Sabha MPs
BJP national president Nitin Nabin , Union minister Ram Nath Thakur , and senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Sanghvi , along with 13 other newly elected and re elected members, took oath as Rajya Sabha MPs on Thursday in a formal ceremony held in Parliament.
The oath was administered by Vice President of India and Chairman of Rajya Sabha C P Radhakrishnan , marking the induction of 16 members representing Bihar, Assam, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Telangana.
Of the 16 members , eight belong to the BJP, three are from its allies, and five are from the Congress.
Nitin Nabin, who recently took charge as BJP national president, has now entered the Upper House after resigning from the Bihar Legislative Assembly. He took the oath in Hindi amid the thumping of desks by fellow members.
Union minister Ram Nath Thakur, who has been re elected from Bihar, also took oath on the occasion.
From Bihar, Upendra Kushwaha of RLM and Shivesh Kumar of the BJP also joined the Upper House. Assam was represented by Terash Gowalla , Jogen Mohan , and Pramod Boro of UPP L.
From Chhattisgarh, Laxmi Verma of the BJP and Phulo Devi Netam of the Congress were sworn in. Haryana was represented by Karamvir Singh Boudh of the Congress and Sanjay Bhatia of the BJP.
Congress leaders Abhishek Manu Sanghvi and Vem Narendra Reddy , representing Telangana, also took oath. Sujeet Kumar of the BJP from Odisha and Anurag Sharma of the Congress from Himachal Pradesh were among the remaining members sworn in.
The ceremony reflected a broad political representation across states, with leaders from both the ruling alliance and the opposition formally taking charge of their roles in the Upper House of Parliament.
