The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday appointed senior leader Nagendra Nath Tripathi as the party’s national organiser , entrusting him with a key organisational role as the ruling party continues efforts to strengthen its nationwide network.

The appointment was announced by BJP president Nitin Nabin through a notification issued by national general secretary (organisation) Arun Singh . According to the notification, Tripathi has been appointed as the party’s Rashtriya Sangathak (Vishishth Karyakarta Sampark) and will operate from Delhi , which will serve as his headquarters.

Tripathi was previously serving as the BJP’s regional organisation general secretary for the Bihar-Jharkhand region , a position he held since 2021. Before that, he worked as the party’s organisation general secretary in Bihar and spent nearly eight years in a similar role in Uttar Pradesh, helping expand the BJP’s organisational structure and booth-level network.

Born in Belauli village in Uttar Pradesh’s Sant Kabir Nagar district, Tripathi comes from a farming family and has been associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since his school days. He later served as an RSS pracharak and also held responsibilities in the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) , the student organisation affiliated with the RSS.

Known within the BJP as a low-profile but influential organisational strategist, Tripathi has played a key role in coordinating between the BJP and the RSS while overseeing electoral planning and cadre expansion in several states. Party leaders believe his extensive organisational experience will help strengthen outreach and coordination with party workers across the country.
