BJP always encourages its true workers: N. Ramchander Rao
Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao said that while senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh’s praise of the RSS should be seen as an internal matter for Congress, one fact remains clear: the BJP always encourages its genuine workers.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Ramchander Rao stated that Digvijay Singh’s comments on social media reflect a personal perspective within Congress. “Although his remarks may create discomfort for the Congress, we consider this an internal issue of their party. However, it is undeniable that BJP always promotes and supports its committed workers,” he added.
The comments came after Digvijay Singh shared a black-and-white photo from the 1990s on the social media platform Quora. The image showed a young Narendra Modi sitting on the floor beside senior BJP leader L.K. Advani during a function in Gujarat. Digvijay Singh commented, “A regular RSS volunteer and Jan Sangh worker, sitting on the floor, later rose to become a state chief minister and then the Prime Minister. This shows the strength of the organization.” The post, in which Singh tagged several senior Congress leaders, sparked political discussions.
Responding to this, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut noted that Digvijay Singh has often criticized the RSS, raising questions about why he made such a statement now. Raut also alleged that the RSS had no role in the freedom struggle, failed to hoist the national flag for years, and contributed to religious tensions in the country.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Sachin Pilot emphasized that the party remains united and that every member has the right to express their views. He clarified that Digvijay Singh’s remarks do not indicate any ideological split within the Congress.
