Big Boost for Uppada Fishermen: Pawan Kalyan to Roll Out Mega Development Plan

In a significant step towards uplifting the fishing community in Uppada’s coastal belt, the State government has prepared a comprehensive master plan aimed at ensuring long-term social and economic security for fishermen and their families.

The large-scale development initiative is set to be officially announced by Pithapuram MLA and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan during his upcoming visit to the constituency.

The plan was conceived following a detailed meeting held on October 9 last year at the Kakinada District Collectorate , where fishermen voiced concerns over the growing challenges threatening their livelihoods. Officials subsequently conducted a thorough review and incorporated targeted solutions into the blueprint.

Critical issues such as coastal pollution , sea erosion , and the declining marine resources have been given priority. The government has reportedly earmarked dedicated funds and outlined clear measures to mitigate these threats.

A major focus of the plan is ensuring fishermen’s safety and income stability. It promotes the use of modern technology alongside traditional practices and aims to strengthen marketing support to guarantee fair prices for the catch. The proposal also includes relief mechanisms and alternative livelihoods to shield families from financial distress during natural calamities.

In addition to strengthening marine activities, the blueprint emphasises improved infrastructure in fishing villages, including roads, healthcare and educational facilities, paving the way for sustainable and inclusive development along the Uppada coast.
