Reaffirming the Telangana government's commitment to delivering reliable and uninterrupted electricity , Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday said the state is expanding its power infrastructure through the construction of new substations and strengthening of the transmission network. The initiative, he said, is aimed at ensuring high-quality electricity supply to households, industries and the agricultural sector while meeting the state's rising energy demand.

As part of his visit to Jogulamba Gadwal district , the Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for power infrastructure projects worth ₹376.25 crore . The projects include new substations and transmission facilities designed to improve voltage stability, reduce transmission losses and enhance the reliability of electricity distribution in rural and semi-urban areas.

Bhatti Vikramarka arrived at the Shantinagar helipad in Vaddepalli mandal , where he was received by District Collector Rizwan Basha Shaik , Superintendent of Police Srinivasa Rao , and local public representatives. He later travelled to Julekal village in the Alampur Assembly constituency .

Accompanied by Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Vakiti Srihari , the Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated newly built 33/11 KV power substations at Julekal, Pacharla, Pullur and Medikonda . The substations are expected to improve power quality, minimise voltage fluctuations and provide more dependable electricity to villages, particularly benefiting farmers, households and small businesses.

The highlight of the visit was the foundation stone laying for a 220/132/33 KV Extra High Voltage (EHV) substation at Erravalli , which will be developed at a cost of ₹155 crore . Once completed, the facility will significantly strengthen the regional transmission network, improve grid resilience and support future industrial, commercial and agricultural power requirements.

During the programme, free electricity transformers were distributed to farmers as part of the government's efforts to strengthen agricultural infrastructure and ensure uninterrupted power for irrigation.

Addressing a public meeting, Bhatti Vikramarka said the Congress government is committed to eliminating power-related hardships and ensuring every consumer receives dependable electricity. He noted that sustained investments in transmission and distribution infrastructure are crucial to supporting Telangana's economic growth, industrial expansion and rural development.

The event was attended by Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi , Alampur MLA Vijayudu , Achampet MLA Chikkudu Vamsi Krishna , Shadnagar MLA Shankar , besides senior officials from the Power and Revenue Departments .
