India continued their strong run at the ISSF World Cup in Munich as Manu Bhaker and Samrat Rana secured a silver medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event , narrowly missing gold by just 0.3 points against China’s reigning world champions.

The Indian pair put up a determined fight against Yao Qianxun and Hu Kai , eventually finishing second after a closely contested final. With this result, India ended the competition second on the medal tally , with two gold and two silver medals , behind China’s dominant haul of four gold and three bronze.

Bhaker and Rana started slowly, scoring 100.0 in the opening series and placing third among four finalists. However, they recovered strongly in the second series, with Bhaker shooting 51.5 and Rana adding 49.9 , moving the pair into second place.

By the third series, the Indians had reduced the gap to just 0.1 point , keeping the contest extremely tight. The duo even briefly took a 2.2-point lead during the elimination stage, raising hopes of a gold finish.

However, the momentum shifted in the final stages as a few low shots from both shooters allowed the Chinese pair to recover and regain control. Despite a strong push in the closing shots, India fell short as China edged ahead to take gold.

The bronze medal went to another Chinese pair, Shen Yihao and Bu Shuaihang .

Earlier, India’s second pair Suruchi Singh and Shravan Kumar finished 10th in qualification , while both Indian pairs in the 10m air rifle mixed team event failed to reach the medal rounds.

Despite the near miss, India’s overall performance remained strong, reflecting consistency across events at the international level.
