Bengaluru tech summit 2025 highlights city’s global IT leadership

The Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 has once again underlined the city’s pivotal role in the global technology landscape, with delegations from nearly 60 countries participating, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters, Shivakumar expressed satisfaction at the enthusiasm shown by international companies, investors, and industry leaders. “I am very happy that the Karnataka government is organising the Bengaluru Tech Summit. Around 60 countries are participating, and all eyes are on Bengaluru. More than 25 lakh IT professionals are working here, and world leaders are keen to invest in the city,” he said.

The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment, reducing bureaucratic hurdles, and improving infrastructure to facilitate investment. As part of this vision, a new IT city is being planned in Bidadi, which is expected to attract billions of dollars in foreign investment.

Shivakumar also emphasised the role of Bengaluru’s local talent in driving the IT sector and the state’s economy. “The local talent, innovation, and start-ups will take Karnataka in a new direction if encouraged properly. I always urge the youth to compete at a global level. We will support anyone seeking opportunities in Karnataka,” he added.

He praised IT Minister Priyank Kharge and Keonics head Sharath Bachche Gowda, noting their contributions to strengthening the state’s IT infrastructure. “No other place on earth has this kind of talent pool. The Tech Summit will discuss the future of IT over the next three days, focusing on innovation, start-ups, and emerging technologies,” Shivakumar said.

The Summit serves as a platform for industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and start-ups to interact, exchange knowledge, and explore investment opportunities. It has grown over the years from a regional IT showcase to a global forum for innovation, investment, and collaboration, reflecting Bengaluru’s reputation as the Silicon Valley of India.

When asked about recent praise from some companies regarding road repairs in the city, Shivakumar said, “We welcome both praise and criticism. Our priority remains serving the people.”

With a strong international presence and a focus on emerging technologies, start-ups, and talent development, the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 highlights the city’s continued rise as a global IT and innovation hub, while reinforcing Karnataka’s commitment to fostering economic growth, investment, and technological leadership.
