Bengaluru Police Seize Drugs Worth Rs 5.14 Crore, 11 Arrested

Bengaluru police have seized drugs worth approximately Rs 5.14 crore across multiple areas in the city and arrested 11 individuals, including two foreign nationals. The crackdown was carried out following specific intelligence received by police about the sale of banned substances in various jurisdictions.

According to authorities, the operation covered the areas under Yelahanka New Town, Adugodi, Bharathinagar, Jalahalli, and Pulikeshinagar police stations . In Adugodi, police seized a significant portion of the drugs, and the matter was personally reviewed by City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh , with senior police officials present at the site.

Cases were registered under the NDPS Act , and searches were conducted at locations identified by informants. During questioning, the accused allegedly admitted to procuring drugs from unidentified foreign nationals, sources in other states, and local suppliers, which they sold for profit, including to college students.

Police seized 2 kg and 7 grams of MDMA, 31 kg and 396 grams of ganja, 220 grams of hydro ganja, and 162 grams of heroin . A two-wheeler used in the crimes was also confiscated. One accused remains absconding, and efforts are underway to trace unidentified suppliers.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda said a foreign national was arrested in connection with the seizure of MDMA in Yelahanka New Town, valued at around Rs 4 crore in the open market. “We have gathered certain inputs during his interrogation, based on which details of consumers and suppliers are being traced,” he added.

All 11 accused have been produced in court on different dates and remanded to judicial custody. Police said investigations are ongoing to dismantle the wider drug network.
