Be Part of the Census Drive: AP Chief Minister Calls for Public Participation
The self-enumeration process for Andhra Pradesh’s census began on Thursday, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu registering his details online from his residence in Amaravati . The exercise, part of the House Listing and Housing Census , was completed via the official portal in the presence of AP Census Director J. Nivas , with officials outlining the 33-question format and data security measures.
Addressing the media, the Chief Minister said the initiative would help ensure equitable distribution of welfare benefits and support better policy planning by treating families as a unit. He highlighted that this is the first census exercise in the state after bifurcation and would provide a foundation for future development.
Officials stated that the process will be carried out in two phases, with house listing currently underway and population enumeration scheduled for next year. Citizens can submit their details online until April 30, after which enumerators will conduct door-to-door verification from May 1 to May 30.
The Chief Minister urged people to participate actively and provide accurate information, noting that reliable data is essential for effectively delivering welfare schemes.
