

Basaveshwara’s Vision to Guide Governance, Says Minister Ponnam Prabhakar
The 893rd birth anniversary of Basaveshwara was celebrated at Ravindra Bharati under the aegis of the Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Department. State Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Vakiti Srihari attended as chief guests and paid floral tributes.
Addressing the gathering, Prabhakar described Basaveshwara as a champion of equality , social justice , and moral values . He urged people to follow his ideals and announced that the state government would soon lay the foundation stone for ‘Basaveshwara Bhavan,’ noting that a corporation has already been established in his honour. He also said the reformer’s principles were reflected in the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi.
Basaveshwara devoted his life to eradicating caste discrimination and promoting equality . His message of “Kayakave Kailasa” emphasised dignity of labour , while his reforms supporting women’s rights and marginalized communities remain influential.
The event was attended by MP Suresh Shetkar, Police Housing Corporation Chairman Gurunath Reddy, and Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, among others, who called for building an inclusive society by upholding his values.
