BARC Scientific Officers Recruitment 2026, Apply Online Till January 28

The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has invited online applications for the recruitment of Scientific Officers through its prestigious Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates (OCES-2026) and the DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme (DGFS-2026) . The application process began on 22 December 2025 , and will close on 28 January 2026 .

The recruitment is conducted by the BARC Training Schools under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and offers candidates an opportunity to join premier DAE units, including BARC, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL).

Eligible candidates include engineering graduates and science postgraduates with degrees such as B.E., B.Tech, B.Sc (Engineering), M.Sc, M.E., or M.Tech in specified disciplines. Applicants must have secured a minimum of 60 per cent aggregate marks in their qualifying degree. Final-year students awaiting results may also apply, subject to completion of degree requirements by 31 July 2026.

The age limit, as on 01 August 2026, is 26 years for candidates in the general category, with relaxation up to 29 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates and up to 31 years for SC/ST candidates and other eligible categories, as per government norms.

Selection will be carried out through an online examination or shortlisting based on valid GATE scores from 2024, 2025, or 2026, followed by a personal interview. Candidates selected under OCES will undergo a one-year training programme, while those chosen for DGFS will receive a two-year fellowship linked to an M.Tech programme at selected institutes.

During the training period , selected candidates will receive a stipend of ₹74,000 per month . Upon successful completion of training and appointment as Scientific Officers , candidates will be placed in Group-A posts at Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix, with total monthly emoluments of approximately ₹1.35 lakh for postings in Mumbai, including allowances.

Male candidates belonging to General and OBC categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹500, while women candidates, SC/ST candidates, persons with disabilities and certain other categories are exempted.
