Bank of India Opens Applications for 115 Specialist Officer Posts

Bank of India’s recruitment drive for 115 Specialist Officer (SO) positions was announced through an official notification issued under Project No. 2024-25/05 dated October 1, 2025. The online application process was opened from November 17 and will remain active until November 30, 2025. The recruitment is being carried out for posts across Scale II, III, and IV, covering various streams in IT, Risk, Law, Engineering, Finance, and Economics.

According to the notification, applications are being accepted only through the bank’s official website, bankofindia.co.in and no other mode of submission is permitted. Candidates possessing qualifications such as B.E., B.Tech, MCA, M.Sc, or other relevant graduate/postgraduate degrees, depending on the post, are eligible to apply. The age limit is prescribed between 22 and 45 years as of October 1, 2025, with relaxations applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.

A total of 115 vacancies have been notified, including 15 posts in Scale IV , 54 in Scale III , and 46 in Scale II . Positions such as Chief Manager (various IT roles, Economist, and IT Security), Senior Manager (IT, Risk, and Project Management), and Manager (Law, Civil, Electrical, IT, Finance & Accounts, and Risk) are included in the recruitment.

The salary structure for the advertised posts will follow the existing pay scales of the bank:

MMGS-II:

• ₹64,820–93,960

MMGS-III:

• ₹85,920–1,05,280

SMGS-IV:

• ₹1,02,300–1,20,940

Basic pay along with admissible allowances and perquisites will be provided as per rules.

The selection procedure will be conducted through an online examination and/or personal interview , depending on the number of applicants. The online test will consist of English Language (25 marks; qualifying in nature) and Professional Knowledge (100 marks), with a total duration of 100 minutes. Minimum qualifying marks of 35% for General/EWS candidates and 30% for reserved categories have been prescribed, with a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The interview will carry 100 marks and will require minimum qualifying marks of 50 for General/EWS and 45 for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates. If both stages are conducted, the final merit list will follow an 80:20 weightage ratio for the online exam and interview.

An application fee of ₹850 has been prescribed for General and other category candidates, while SC/ST/PwBD applicants will be required to pay ₹175 as intimation charges. Payment is permitted only through online modes such as debit card, credit card, internet banking, or UPI.

Candidates applying online are required to upload scanned copies of their photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration in the prescribed format. A valid email ID and mobile number must be maintained throughout the recruitment process, as all communication including call letters for the examination and interview will be sent only through electronic modes.

The bank has stated that all applications will be treated as provisional until document verification is completed. It has also reserved the right to cancel or modify the selection process or the number of posts without assigning any reason. Applications once submitted cannot be withdrawn, and multiple submissions will lead to cancellation.
