
Bangladeshi Engineering Student Found Dead in Faridabad Hostel, Probe Underway
A Bangladeshi engineering student was found dead in a suspected case of suicide by hanging inside the hostel room of a private engineering college on Surajkund-Faridabad Road , police said on Sunday.
The deceased, identified as Mustaq, was a student of engineering and resided in the college hostel. He was staying in a shared room on the second floor of the hostel building.
According to police and later reports, the incident came to light late Saturday evening when Mustaq’s roommate returned and found him hanging from a ceiling fan. He and other students immediately brought him down and rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Investigators said the student’s mobile phone has been seized for forensic examination , and call detail records are being analysed as part of the inquiry. Officials have also begun scanning his recent communications and social media activity to establish the sequence of events leading up to the death.
A senior police officer said initial investigation inputs suggest a possible personal relationship angle , though officials stressed that no conclusion has been drawn and all possibilities remain open.
Police confirmed that the family of the deceased and the Bangladesh Embassy have been informed . Arrangements are being made for the post-mortem examination, which will be conducted after the arrival of family members.
Officials also said statements of hostel residents and staff are being recorded, and CCTV footage from the premises is being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
