Bandi Sanjay welcomes SIT notices to KCR over phone tapping case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) taking significant steps in the phone tapping case has stirred political debate in Telangana. The SIT has reportedly decided to issue notices to former Chief Minister and BRS leader K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), a move that has caught the attention of political circles.

Union Minister Bandi Sanjay welcomed the decision, calling it a positive step towards accountability. Speaking to the media, he described the phone tapping case as a serious threat to democratic principles.

Sanjay alleged that not only were the phones of several political leaders tapped illegally, but actions were taken that created tension within personal and family lives. He claimed that even the phones of children and in-laws were allegedly monitored, which, according to him, undermined the credibility of the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB).

He further alleged that political figures and contractors misused the SIB, allegedly extorting large sums of money. Sanjay emphasized the need for a thorough investigation rather than just issuing notices, questioning whether the authorities would merely send notices and close the matter, or uncover the actual culprits.

Highlighting the prolonged delay in the case, he compared it to a TV serial with endless episodes, noting that political pressures may be contributing to the lack of closure.

Sanjay urged that investigators be given full freedom to carry out the inquiry without interference, stressing that the masterminds and conspiracies behind the phone tapping must be brought to light. He called for the investigation to continue until the truth emerges and for strict action against those responsible.
