Balakrishna’s cabinet aspirations spark statewide debate

Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna encountered an unexpected situation during his constituency tour on Monday. As his convoy proceeded through Basavanapalli High School in Kirikere Panchayat, party workers stopped him and raised slogans demanding that he be given a ministerial position in the state government. Balakrishna, however, politely declined to entertain the demand.

The incident quickly drew attention, as party workers called upon Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to offer a cabinet berth to Balakrishna. The matter has since become a topic of widespread discussion across Andhra Pradesh.

Balakrishna, a three-time MLA from Hindupur, has never held a ministerial post, despite his repeated electoral success. Party workers argue that he deserves a place in the cabinet, especially since first-time winners are sometimes accommodated in the state government.
