
Baghpat Man Allegedly Beaten To Death By Three Youths After Late-Night Drinking Session
A 40-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death with a brick and stoned following a late-night drinking party in Meetli village, police said on Saturday. Three youths have been detained in connection with the incident.
The victim, Sonu, a street food vendor from Dola village, was found dead on Saturday morning in a forested area near Meetli village with severe head injuries , police said. Empty liquor and beer bottles were also recovered from the spot, indicating a drinking session before the violence.
According to police, Sonu was taken away by two youths from the same village around 8 pm on Friday. When he did not return home, his family attempted to contact him, but his phone was switched off.
Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Rai said a case has been registered on the basis of a complaint from the family. The body has been sent for postmortem examination to ascertain the exact cause and time of death.
Sonu is survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters. Further investigation is underway.
