The long wait has finally paid off. The trailer for S.S. Rajamouli’s monumental spectacle, Baahubali: The Epic , is out, plunging the entire nation back into that unparalleled wave of exhilaration. The sheer grandeur and emotional depth that once redefined cinema are resurfacing, stirring memories afresh. Coming October 31st, this cinematic marvel is poised for a spectacular nationwide re-release, ready to etch history once again on the silver screen.

The original Baahubali debuted in July 2015, starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Anushka Shetty in pivotal roles. Its sequel, Baahubali: The Conclusion , stormed theatres in April 2017. Both instalments scripted box-office legends and carved a permanent niche in audience hearts. Later, the franchise expanded with the animated series Baahubali: Crown of Blood , set within the same universe, and it too garnered widespread acclaim.

Rajamouli had earlier affirmed plans to extend the Baahubali universe across multiple platforms. Beyond films, he teased diverse formats to carry forward Prabhas’s legacy, collaborating closely with producer Shobu Yarlagadda.

‘In the West, a successful brand evolves into a multi-media empire. We experimented with games, a VR experience, and a series for Baahubali , but the outcomes fell short of expectations,’ Rajamouli revealed in Netflix’s Modern Masters documentary. ‘Finding the right talent and delegating creatively was challenging. Yet, Sharad Devarajan’s team delivered admirably, this was essential,’ he added. ‘ Baahubali won’t stop at animation. It will flourish through numerous avenues and mediums. This isn’t the forum to elaborate,’ he hinted intriguingly.

Rajamouli’s two-part epic is returning to the big screen as a single, seamless Epic Cut . After a phenomenal response in North America, advance bookings for Prabhas led magnum opus Baahubali: The Epic have surged domestically to record levels, underscoring the franchise’s enduring mania.

In Hyderabad, bookings for this re-edited single film version opened yesterday, October 25th, and shows turned housefull within minutes. BookMyShow clocked over 6,000 tickets sold per hour, reflecting an insatiable urge to relive Mahishmathi’s majesty on the grand canvas.

This isn’t a fresh release, it’s a remastered fusion of Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion into one fluid narrative. Yet, the frenzy affirms the saga’s cult status spanning generations.

The makers have teased surprises in this consolidated cut, skyrocketing fan expectations. Curiosity about how the two parts merge, coupled with those undisclosed thrills, has fuelled the booking tsunami. Prabhas devotees are determined to set a new re-release benchmark, with post-release collection forecasts already soaring.

North America alone has crossed $200,000 (approx. Rs 1.80 crore) in pre-sales. Nostalgia for Rajamouli’s storytelling and Prabhas’s iconic Baahubali is sweeping like a tidal wave. Slated for October 31, Baahubali: The Epic is tipped to rewrite re-release records for Indian cinema. Trade pundits predict Mahishmathi’s immersive splendour will once again rattle the box office.
