Ayush Mhatre appointed captain of India U19 squad for Asia Cup

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named Ayush Mhatre aged 18, as captain of the 15-member India Under-19 team for the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup, scheduled from December 12 to 21 in Dubai.

Vihaan Malhotra will serve as vice-captain, while the squad also features Vaibhav Suryavanshi, wicketkeepers Abhigyan Kundu and Harvansh Singh, and other promising talents.

Ayush Mhatre (Captain), Vihaan Malhotra (Vice-Captain), Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Abhigyan Kundu (WK), Harvansh Singh (WK), Shourya Saini, Pranay Gunde, Rishit Dheer, Rishit Shetty, Rudransh Saini, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Krish Patel, Abhishek Yadav, Aman Verma, and Arjun Reddy.

Mhatre, who was acquired by Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025, has been in sensational form this season.

India faces Pakistan in Group A and, with their strong form. The squad blends experienced campaigners with young talent, aiming to continue India’s dominance in junior cricket across Asia.
