‘Avengers: Endgame’ Encore Adds Steve-Peggy Scene That Teases ‘Doomsday’

Marvel Studios has brought Avengers: Endgame back to theatres in a special Encore release, with newly added footage that reportedly offers a glimpse into what could be the beginning of Avengers: Doomsday.

The key addition comes after Steve Rogers’ time-travel moment with Peggy Carter, which originally concluded his journey as Captain America. The extended ending reportedly picks up immediately after Steve travels back in time to return the Infinity Stones, before choosing to remain with Peggy. According to director Anthony Russo, the new material helps set the stage for events connected to Avengers: Doomsday.

The Encore edition, which began screening on September 25, 2026, adds around four minutes of footage to the 2019 blockbuster. While the new material is brief, its reported connection to the upcoming Avengers film has made it a major talking point among Marvel fans.

The theatrical return also comes with promotional material and special theatre experiences, including playful PSAs featuring characters such as Bucky Barnes and Captain America. Fans have reportedly responded with cosplay, cheers and renewed excitement for the Marvel saga.

Actors from the original film have also joined the promotion. Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor, encouraged audiences to return to the theatrical experience, while Jeremy Renner announced the Encore release.

Avengers: Endgame, originally released in 2019, remains one of the biggest films in Marvel Studios' history. The Encore screening gives audiences another opportunity to revisit its conclusion while potentially providing a bridge to the studio's next major Avengers chapter.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to arrive on December 18, 2026, with the new Endgame footage adding further anticipation around how Marvel plans to connect its past and future stories.
