Avengers: Doomsday Presales Cross $35 Million as Doctor Doom Mystery Deepens

Avengers: Doomsday is generating growing excitement among Marvel fans as new footage, record-breaking trailer views and strong advance bookings continue to build anticipation for the superhero spectacle, scheduled to release on December 18, 2026.

The film has already crossed $35 million in presales, with more than 1.4 million tickets reportedly sold in the US. Premium formats have helped drive early revenue, highlighting strong demand months before the theatrical release.

Marvel has also offered fans a closer look at Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. New footage shown at D23 reportedly expands on Doom’s origins and presents a more emotionally driven version of the iconic villain. The footage suggests that personal loss, including the death of his wife and child, plays a major role in shaping his transformation.

Doom’s power level also appears formidable. Reports from the footage indicate that he is capable of stopping Thor’s Stormbreaker and commanding an army of Sentinels, positioning him as a major threat to the Avengers and the wider Marvel universe.

Meanwhile, speculation surrounding Downey Jr.’s connection to Tony Stark has intensified. Actor David Harbour, who returns as Red Guardian, recently appeared to tease the mystery by saying, “You… are Tony Stark,” when asked to provide a line from the film. Marvel has not confirmed whether Doctor Doom is a Tony Stark variant, leaving the comment open to interpretation.

The film’s first trailer reportedly attracted 503 million views within 24 hours, making it one of the biggest trailer launches in history.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Doomsday features a massive ensemble cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh and several returning X-Men stars.
