Avengers: Doomsday: Marvel Ramps Up Promotions With Global Tour, New Teasers

Marvel Studios is stepping up promotions for its much-anticipated superhero film Avengers: Doomsday, announcing a nine-city global tour and unveiling fresh details about the ensemble cast and its central antagonist, Doctor Doom, ahead of its December 18 release.

The promotional tour will cover Las Vegas, Sao Paulo, Gold Coast, Rome, London, Seoul, Shanghai, Toronto and Los Angeles. Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, along with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, are scheduled to visit South Korea on December 7 and 8, according to reports.

The film, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, will bring together the Avengers, New Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four and X-Men against an existential threat posed by Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.

Downey's return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a new role has emerged as one of the film's biggest talking points. The promotional footage has teased Doom's formidable abilities, including a sequence involving Thor's Stormbreaker, while merchandise-related revelations and images of a mysterious spell book have fuelled speculation about his plans and the multiverse.

Marvel has also revisited its 2019 blockbuster Avengers: Endgame through a special theatrical re-release, titled Avengers: Endgame Encore, featuring additional footage involving Doctor Doom, Loki and Bruce Banner, potentially setting up events in the upcoming film.

The movie will also feature Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and several other familiar faces from Marvel's superhero franchises.

While the trailers have generated considerable excitement, some early reactions have questioned the film's pacing. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to release in the US on December 18, with its Indian release slated for December 17.
