India Women endured a heavy 185-run defeat against Australia Women in the third and final ODI at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart on Sunday, resulting in a series whitewash for the hosts.

Asked to bat first, Australia posted a commanding total of 409/7 in 50 overs , powered by a remarkable knock from captain Alyssa Healy, who played her farewell ODI match in style. Healy smashed 158 runs off 86 balls , marking her eighth century in the format. She struck 27 fours and two sixes , providing a flying start alongside Phoebe Litchfield. Litchfield scored 14 runs before being dismissed by Kashvee Gautam.

Georgia Voll contributed 62 off 52 balls and built a crucial 104-run partnership for the second wicket with Healy. After Sneh Rana broke the stand in the 22nd over, Beth Mooney joined Healy and added a massive 145-run partnership for the third wicket off just 92 balls. Mooney remained unbeaten on 106 off 84 balls , hitting 10 fours and one six. Late support from Nicola Carey, who scored 34 not out off 15 balls , helped Australia cross the 400-run mark comfortably.

For India, Shree Charani was the most expensive bowler, conceding 106 runs for two wickets , while Sneh Rana also picked up two wickets. Deepti Sharma, Renuka Thakur and Kashvee Gautam claimed one wicket each.

Chasing a daunting target of 410 runs , India suffered an early setback as star batter Smriti Mandhana was dismissed for zero in the second over. Pratika Rawal attempted to stabilize the innings with 27 off 21 balls but fell to Annabel Sutherland. Jemimah Rodrigues offered some resistance with a quick 42 off 29 balls , hitting nine boundaries.

However, wickets continued to tumble as India failed to build substantial partnerships. A late effort from Sneh Rana (44) and Deepti Sharma saw them add 63 runs for the eighth wicket , but the target remained far out of reach. India were bowled out for 224 in 45.1 overs , losing the match by a massive margin.

Alana King was the standout bowler for Australia, taking four wickets , while Georgia Wareham claimed two. With this victory, Australia completed a dominant series performance.

India will now travel to Perth for a one-off Test match starting March 6 , aiming to regroup after the disappointing whitewash.
