
‘Athidhi’ returns to theatres in 4K: Mahesh Babu’s action entertainer on May 29
Telugu cinema is set to revisit one of its stylish action entertainers as Mahesh Babu’s 2007 film Athidhi gears up for a grand re-release in theatres on May 29, 2026. The film, originally directed by Surender Reddy and produced by G. Ramesh Babu under Krishna Productions, is being brought back in a refreshed and technically enhanced format.
The makers have undertaken a complete overhaul of the film, including re-editing , 4K restoration, re-mastering, and re-recording of the audio to match contemporary cinematic standards. Athidhi , which features Amrita Rao as the female lead, was a commercial success during its initial release. It reportedly achieved a distributors’ share of ₹28 crore and enjoyed extended theatrical runs, completing 50 days in over 400 centres, a significant milestone at the time.
