Army Jawan Arrested in Ranchi Over Alleged Molestation of College Student

A 38 year old Army jawan has been arrested in Ranchi after a 23 year old college student alleged that she was molested while returning home from college on Friday in the Lalpur police station area . Police said they acted on the complaint and registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita based on the victim’s statement and technical evidence.

Rupesh Kumar , officer in charge of Lalpur police station, confirmed that the accused, originally from Haryana and posted at Namkum in Ranchi , was taken into custody and later sent to jail. He added that investigation is underway.
