Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), India’s largest oil and gas public sector undertaking and a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, has opened applications for its Non-Executive Recruitment 2026, inviting eligible candidates to apply for a total of 394 non-executive posts across its Refineries and Pipelines Divisions.

The online application process has opened from today (20 December 2025). Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official IOCL recruitment portal, while the last date for submission of applications and payment of fees is 10 January 2026. The Computer Based Test (CBT) is tentatively scheduled to be held in January 2026.

The recruitment drive covers a wide range of technical and operational positions that are crucial to refinery and pipeline operations. The notified posts include Junior Engineering Assistant (Production), Junior Engineering Assistant (P&U – Operations and Maintenance), Junior Engineering Assistant (Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation), Junior Engineering Assistant (Fire and Safety), Junior Technical Assistant, and Junior Quality Control Analyst.

A total of 394 vacancies have been announced, which are distributed across major IOCL installations located in Guwahati, Barauni, Gujarat, Haldia, Mathura, Panipat, Digboi, Bongaigaon and Paradip, among other locations. The recruitment offers opportunities to candidates from multiple regions across the country.

As per the notification, reservation will be implemented strictly in accordance with Government of India norms. This includes reservation for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC – Non-Creamy Layer), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). Reservation and relaxation benefits are also applicable to eligible ex-servicemen and candidates affected by land acquisition, wherever specified.

The notification clarifies that all posts are open to both male and female candidates, and there is no separate gender-wise quota. Selection will be carried out purely on merit within the applicable reservation categories. IOCL has encouraged greater participation of women candidates in technical and quality-related roles as part of its diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Candidates applying for the posts must possess a relevant diploma, engineering qualification or B.Sc. degree, depending on the post. Certain positions require prior work experience or apprenticeship training. The age limit is 18 to 26 years, with age relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.

The selection process will consist of a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Skill, Proficiency or Physical Test, depending on the post, and document verification. The CBT will assess candidates on professional knowledge, reasoning ability, numerical aptitude and general awareness.

Selected candidates will be appointed in the Non-Executive pay scale, with a basic salary starting at approximately ₹25,000 per month, which can go up to ₹1,05,000, along with dearness allowance, house rent allowance, medical facilities, leave benefits and retirement-related benefits.

The Non-Executive Recruitment 2026 forms part of IOCL’s ongoing manpower strengthening strategy, following multiple recruitment drives conducted in recent years. The hiring aims to support operational efficiency across refineries and pipeline infrastructure while generating large-scale employment opportunities for diploma holders and science graduates.

Indian Oil Corporation Limited operates 11 refineries, an extensive national pipeline network and thousands of fuel retail outlets, playing a critical role in ensuring India’s energy security and fuel supply.

With applications opening from today, the IOCL Non-Executive Recruitment 2026 offers a significant opportunity for aspirants seeking a stable, well-paying government job in the energy sector, while ensuring adherence to reservation norms and gender-inclusive recruitment practices.
