The recruitment process for 500 Soldier posts in the Territorial Army has been announced, and online applications have been invited from eligible candidates. The application window has been scheduled to open on 15 November 2025 , and submissions will be accepted until 14 December 2025 , which has been declared as the final date for applying. Applications are required to be submitted exclusively through the official website territorialarmy.in, as no offline mode has been permitted.

According to the notification, a total of 500 vacancies have been notified across different categories, including Soldier (General Duty), Soldier (General Duty, Clerk, Tradesmen), and Soldier General Duty. Candidates possessing Class 8, Class 10, or Class 12 qualifications, depending on the post, are eligible to apply. The age limit has been fixed between 18 and 42 years , with relaxations provided as per government rules.

For Soldier (General Duty), a Class 10 pass with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject has been prescribed. Boards following the grading system are required to meet the equivalent standards. For Soldier Clerk, completion of Class 12 in any stream with 60% aggregate and 50% marks in each subject has been mandated, including a compulsory 50% in English and Mathematics or related subjects. Soldier Tradesmen (except House Keeper and Mess Keeper) must have passed Class 10, while House Keeper and Mess Keeper posts require a Class 8 pass.

The selection process has been structured to include Document Verification, a Physical Fitness Test, a Written Examination, a Medical Examination, and a Final Merit List. Candidates qualifying in all phases will be considered for enrollment.

It has been clarified that these positions are not permanent or full-time government jobs. Territorial Army roles are part-time and voluntary in nature, allowing selected personnel to continue their civilian employment while rendering service when required. Pay and allowances are provided only during periods of training or active duty.

Training arrangements for selected candidates have also been detailed. Newly enrolled soldiers will be required to undergo 30 days of basic military training in the first year. Additionally, annual training of 30 to 60 days will be conducted every year. Specialised trade-related courses ranging from two to eight weeks may also be assigned based on the role.

Candidates have been advised to refer to the official notification for details on fees and other requirements. The notification and online application link will remain available on the Territorial Army website until the deadline of 14 December 2025.
