Apple Redesigns Siri Icon in iOS 27 Beta 5 With Dynamic Liquid Glass Look

Apple has redesigned the standalone Siri app icon in the fifth developer beta of iOS 27, giving it a fluid, translucent appearance that mirrors the glowing interface users see when activating the AI assistant. The change is part of Apple's broader refinement of its Liquid Glass design language across iOS 27.

The new icon moves away from the previous static look and uses layered transparency and depth to resemble Siri's dynamic glow. The redesign comes as Apple prepares to transform Siri from a conventional voice assistant into a more capable, AI-powered conversational assistant built around Apple Intelligence.

A major change in iOS 27 is the introduction of a dedicated Siri app, allowing users to start new conversations, revisit previous interactions and maintain conversation history across Apple devices through private iCloud syncing.

Apple Intelligence is expected to make Siri more useful for open-ended questions, brainstorming and natural back-and-forth conversations rather than simply responding to individual commands. Siri can also use personal and onscreen context and is designed to perform actions across supported apps, bringing the assistant closer to an AI workspace.

The revamped Siri experience represents a significant shift from traditional Siri, which primarily appeared as an on-demand overlay. The new approach aims to make Siri a persistent, personalised assistant capable of understanding what users are doing and helping them complete tasks.

The iOS 27 Beta 5 update also introduces redesigned icons for several system apps. Preview gets a detailed loupe over a colourful background, while Safari, Settings, App Store and Remote receive further Liquid Glass-inspired refinements.

Together, the changes highlight Apple's effort to combine a more immersive visual identity with deeper AI integration, positioning Siri as a central part of its next-generation software ecosystem.
