AP woos global investors with bold vision
Andhra Pradesh IT and Industries Minister Nara Lokesh hosted a high-profile investor summit in London on Tuesday as part of the state’s global outreach programme, ahead of the upcoming CII Partnership Summit scheduled to be held in Visakhapatnam this November.
The summit, organised at the Institute of Directors, Pall Mall, drew participation from more than 150 global executives and senior representatives from leading companies, including Ericsson, Cyient, Bank of America, Hinduja Group, and Rolls-Royce. The event aimed at highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s long-term economic vision and opportunities for international collaboration in emerging industries.
Addressing the gathering, Lokesh outlined Andhra Pradesh’s roadmap to become a USD 2.4 trillion economy by 2047, built on a green, cluster-based growth strategy. He highlighted the state’s unique advantages such as India’s second-longest coastline, abundant renewable energy potential across solar, wind, and pumped storage, and its strategic location offering access to both domestic and international markets.
The minister explained that the state is focusing on building integrated, decentralised industrial clusters, each within a 100-kilometre radius, to create ecosystems across sectors such as data centres, semiconductors, renewable energy, electric vehicles, drones, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and AI-led innovations. He stressed that this cluster-based approach would not only drive investment but also ensure balanced regional development and sustainability.
Lokesh further assured investors of fast-track approvals, transparent land allotments, and proactive government facilitation to enhance ease of doing business. He emphasised that Andhra Pradesh’s industrial growth model combines vertical and horizontal integration while ensuring strong support through education, skilling programmes, advanced research facilities, and industry-specific testing infrastructure.
The minister also highlighted the state’s progress in attracting large-scale investments, stating that Andhra Pradesh has secured ₹10 lakh crore worth of investments over the past 15 months since the government took office. These investments, he added, reflect the confidence of both domestic and international businesses in the state’s economic policies and growth potential.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to sustainable development, Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh’s strategy places equal emphasis on farmers, MSMEs, and large enterprises, ensuring inclusive growth across all sectors of society.
The London summit, positioned as a prelude to the CII Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam, served as a platform for engaging potential investors and building momentum for the state’s long-term industrial development goals.
With its green cluster-based vision, proactive policies, and rapidly expanding investor base, Andhra Pradesh is positioning itself as a leading hub for next-generation industries, aligning with India’s broader ambition of becoming a global economic powerhouse by 2047.
