AP Voter Revision: YSRCP Seeks Clarity On Deletions, Transfers

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) state general secretary and MLC Lella Appireddy has urged the Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer to ensure complete transparency in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and make every change verifiable at the booth level.

Appireddy sought constituency-wise and polling station-wise details of voters newly added, deleted, shifted to other areas, marked as deceased and those whose personal details were modified during the revision. He said the authorities should provide complete official data rather than merely sharing download links, enabling Booth Level Agents and recognised political parties to scrutinise every change.

The YSRCP leader also demanded disclosure of detailed figures relating to unmapped voters and discrepancy notices. The Election authorities should clarify the number of notices issued, cases resolved, voters deleted and cases still pending, he said.

Appireddy said the party had already brought suspected duplicate voter entries, including cases involving voters registered in Andhra Pradesh and other states, to the authorities' attention. He called for thorough verification of such cases and removal of confirmed duplicate entries to ensure that each person has only one valid vote.

The party also raised concerns over the rationalisation of polling stations, claiming that members of the same family and newly enrolled voters were being assigned to different booths or wards. Appireddy urged officials to keep members of the same household within the same polling station area wherever possible and review booth arrangements using the latest SIR data.

He further sought clarity on the criteria used to shift voters between polling stations, including whether decisions were based on geographical location, house numbers or voter serial numbers.

The YSRCP demanded that details of newly created and rationalised polling stations, booth mapping, voter transfers, and the names and contact details of Booth Level Officers be made available to the public and recognised political parties.

Appireddy stressed that no eligible voter should be excluded, while verified duplicate and ineligible entries should be removed through due process. He said transparency and access to verifiable data were essential to maintaining confidence in the electoral roll revision process.
