AP to Host Energy Efficiency Investment Bazaar in Vijayawada on Feb 24
The Andhra Pradesh government is stepping up efforts to accelerate energy efficiency adoption by organizing a major Investment Bazaar in Vijayawada on February 24. The initiative, led by the state Energy Department , aims to attract investments, modern technologies, and financing partnerships to strengthen the efficiency ecosystem. Andhra Pradesh, already recognized among India’s leading states in energy conservation , is now focusing on innovative financial models and investor participation to further expand the sector.
Special Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand reviewed preparations for the event with senior power sector officials and emphasized that the summit is intended to promote efficiency investments while driving industrial growth . The initiative seeks not only to reduce electricity consumption but also to provide industries with access to cost-effective energy solutions that lower operating costs and improve competitiveness.
The Investment Bazaar is being organized under the Bureau of Energy Efficiency ’s Energy Efficiency Financing Platform initiative, designed to connect industries with financial institutions and technology providers. By bringing project developers , ESCOs , equipment manufacturers, banks, and policymakers onto a single platform, the event will enable industries to access technical solutions and secure financing more efficiently. This integrated approach is expected to remove common barriers faced by businesses when adopting efficient technologies.
A key focus of the initiative is supporting MSMEs , which often struggle to obtain funding and technical expertise for efficiency upgrades. By enabling small industries to adopt modern energy-saving technologies, the state aims to enhance productivity, reduce energy expenses, and strengthen industrial competitiveness.
According to AP State Energy Conservation Mission CEO P. Pulla Reddy , the summit has received strong interest from stakeholders nationwide. More than 50 representatives including leading industrialists, top bankers, technology providers, and policy experts are expected to participate. The event is expected to serve as a milestone in reducing energy consumption while improving productivity and sustainability.
An Investment Bazaar functions as a one-stop marketplace for industries seeking efficiency solutions. Typically, businesses must approach separate agencies for technology, financing, and regulatory approvals. At this forum, manufacturers of advanced machinery, financial institutions offering loans, and government officials will be available in one place, enabling industries to secure both technical solutions and financial support.
