The Andhra Pradesh Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board (APMSRB) has officially released a significant notification for the APMSRB Civil Assistant Surgeon Recruitment 2025, which aims to fill a total of 538 vacancies. This recruitment drive presents a major opportunity for medical professionals with an MBBS degree to join the state's public health sector, offering a stable career with a highly competitive salary.

The online application window is now open, having started on September 11, 2025, and will remain active until the deadline of October 3, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Prospective candidates are strongly advised to complete their applications well in advance to avoid any last-minute technical issues.

To be eligible for the post, candidates must meet specific criteria. The primary qualification required is an MBBS degree, and applicants must also have a valid registration with the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council (APMC). The age limit for applicants is set between a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 42 years. It is important to note that age relaxations are applicable for candidates from reserved categories, including SC, ST, BC, EWS, Differently Abled, and Ex-Servicemen, as per government regulations.

The salary for the recruited Civil Assistant Surgeons is based on an attractive pay scale ranging from ₹61,960 to ₹1,51,370, reflecting the government's commitment to attracting qualified medical talent.

The application fee is ₹1,000 for OC (Open Category) candidates, while a reduced fee of ₹750 is applicable for candidates from SC, ST, BC, EWS, Differently Abled, and Ex-Servicemen categories. A crucial detail for applicants from outside Andhra Pradesh is that they will be treated as OC candidates and are not eligible for any fee concessions.

The selection process is based on a merit list, with no interview. It is weighted on a 100-point system, with 75 points allocated based on the marks obtained in the MBBS degree. An additional 10 points are awarded for each completed year of service after internship, while up to 15 points are given for experience on a contract basis in tribal, rural, or urban areas, including COVID-19 duty. This points-based system aims to reward both academic excellence and practical experience in the medical field.

Eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the official APMSRB website, apchfw.ap.gov.in. The official notification, which contains comprehensive information on the selection process, syllabus, and other key details, is available for download on the site.
