AP to Get Water Resource Museum with Israeli Support
Israel’s development agency MASHAV is considering setting up a Water Resource Museum and Innovation Centre in Andhra Pradesh to strengthen water management and promote advanced technologies.
The proposal was discussed during a meeting between Nova Amsellem , Water Attaché at the Israeli Embassy, and Kesineni Venkateswarlu , CEO of Andhra Pradesh Science City. The initiative is aligned with the state’s Swarna Andhra Vision–2047 .
The centre is planned as an innovation-driven facility rather than a conventional museum, focusing on technology transfer and practical solutions for water challenges. MASHAV has expressed willingness to provide technical support and explore funding assistance.
Officials said the project will emphasise hands-on learning , showcasing technologies such as atmospheric water generation and modern water storage systems. It aims to equip students with real-world problem-solving skills.
To encourage youth participation, proposals include organising hackathons and innovation challenges in schools and colleges. These initiatives are expected to promote creative solutions in water conservation, reuse and efficient management.
Established in 1958 , MASHAV operates under Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and supports developing nations through technical cooperation in sectors like water, agriculture and education.
The collaboration is expected to enhance water security and foster innovation in Andhra Pradesh.
