Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stated that while international geopolitical tensions are affecting the marketing of the state’s products, proactive measures by the Central Government are helping to address these challenges effectively. Speaking at a special session at the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad on Sunday, he expressed optimism that strategic actions could safeguard the economy despite disruptions in global supply chains.

Referring to the 1991 economic reforms , the Chief Minister noted that they transitioned Andhra Pradesh from an agriculture-based economy toward industrial progress. “Back then, prioritising the IT sector under the 'Knowledge Economy' vision has today positioned Hyderabad at the forefront of the global IT map,” he said. Prestigious projects like Cyber Towers attracted global giants such as Microsoft , strengthening Hyderabad’s ecosystem, while institutions like ISB accelerated this growth. He further credited initiatives like Genome Valley for bolstering the pharma sector, enabling India to supply vaccines globally during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Naidu lamented that systems painstakingly built after the state’s bifurcation were largely dismantled during the five-year tenure leading up to 2024, damaging the state’s brand image and eroding investor confidence. He stressed that the current NDA government is prioritising transparent governance and swift decision-making to restore investment and ensure balanced development.

The CM highlighted that quantum computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and drone technologies will drive future growth. Plans are underway in Andhra Pradesh for the development of space electronics and a ‘Drone City’ . Special attention is being given to green hydrogen and green ammonia , with the goal of establishing Andhra Pradesh as South India’s green fuel hub , which would provide electricity to citizens at lower costs.

Naidu also emphasised that his government consistently leverages technology for citizen benefit. AI is being used in the Tirumala Srivari Darshanam system to ensure transparent services for devotees, and state-of-the-art labs have been set up to maintain prasadam quality. Additionally, expansion of piped natural gas (PNG) supply is expected to significantly reduce fuel costs, helping overcome LPG distribution challenges .
