AP Home Minister Anita visits ailing students at KGH

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Anita visited the students undergoing treatment at King George Hospital (KGH) in Visakhapatnam after they fell ill at the Kurupam Ekalavya Girls’ Gurukul School in Parvathipuram Manyam district.

The minister spoke with the affected students and enquired about their health condition from the medical staff. She assured that the students were being provided with quality medical care and added that officials were giving special attention to the incident. A committee of medical experts has been formed to investigate the health issue and suggest preventive measures.

Minister Anita stated that a comprehensive inquiry is underway to identify the cause of the incident. She emphasized that the government is taking all measures to ensure the safety and welfare of students in all residential schools.

Criticizing the previous government, she remarked that although two tribal leaders served as Deputy Chief Ministers at the time, they never visited the tribal residential schools. She stressed that under the current coalition government, ministers are actively monitoring various welfare institutions, and officials have been instructed to remain alert and responsive to student welfare.

Highlighting the government’s priorities, Anita said the state is placing special emphasis on women’s safety and protection.

Taking a dig at former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, she alleged that several people had died due to spurious liquor during his regime and recalled the tragic incidents in Jangareddygudem. She added that Jagan has no moral right to speak about public health, given his government’s failures in ensuring citizens’ safety.
