The Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced good news for medical job aspirants in the state. A notification has been released for the recruitment of 538 Civil Assistant Surgeon posts in the Department of Public Health and Family Welfare. These vacancies will be filled by the Andhra Pradesh Medical Services Recruitment Board (APMSRB). Eligible and interested candidates can apply online by October 3rd. Successful candidates will be appointed to Primary Health Centers or other government medical institutions.

Regarding educational qualifications, candidates must have an MBBS degree and be registered with the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council. The age of the candidates should be between 18 and 42 years. According to government rules, there will be an age relaxation for candidates belonging to SC, ST, BC, EWS, Persons with Disabilities, and Ex-servicemen. Only permanent residents of the state of Andhra Pradesh are eligible to apply for these posts. The application fee is ₹1,000 for OC candidates and ₹750 for SC, ST, BC, EWS, PwD, and Ex-servicemen candidates.

There will be no written test for this recruitment. Candidate selection will be based entirely on merit. The final list will be prepared based on marks obtained in educational qualifications, experience (if applicable), and other reservation rules. Out of a total of 100 marks, 75% weightage will be given to the marks obtained in the educational qualifications. The remaining marks will be allocated to experience, including experience working in rural areas. The salary for selected candidates will be ₹61,960 to ₹1,51,370 per month.
