The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a fresh opportunity for unemployed youth by preparing to release another District Selection Committee (DSC) notification to fill vacant teacher posts in government schools. The initiative, part of the newly released job calendar , aims to strengthen the public education system while expanding employment opportunities. Education Minister Nara Lokesh informed the Assembly that a comprehensive assessment of vacancies has been completed and the upcoming recruitment drive is expected to include around 3,600 teacher posts . The notification will also include positions left unfilled in the previous Mega DSC recruitment, particularly those reserved posts where eligible candidates were unavailable. The move reflects the government’s commitment to regular teacher recruitment to prevent shortages and ensure continuity in classroom teaching across the state.

The government has also reiterated its focus on developing the backward Rayalaseema region , with special attention to Kurnool district . Lokesh noted that he observed local conditions during his padayatra from Adoni to Mantralayam and stressed the need for targeted development. To boost economic activity and job creation, additional industrial incentives are being offered to attract investment. In the education sector, Kurnool received a large share of teacher posts in previous recruitment cycles, and further measures are planned to improve the teacher–student ratio , enhance learning outcomes, and strengthen school infrastructure.

In higher education, the state has sanctioned ₹139 crore for the development of Kurnool Cluster University , with ₹55 crore already utilised under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) . The remaining works are expected to be completed before the next academic year, and the cluster model is intended to promote interdisciplinary learning and specialised research. Meanwhile, the minister stated that contractual staff under Samagra Shiksha receive comparatively higher wages in Andhra Pradesh than in other southern states, and the state will take up salary enhancement concerns with the Union government since the programme is centrally sponsored. To support children of migrant labourers and prevent school dropouts, the government also plans to introduce seasonal hostels , ensuring continuity in education for vulnerable communities while strengthening enrolment and retention.
