
AP Govt to Ensure Fully-Ready Hostels Ahead of School Reopening
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has underscored his government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of women , children , directing police officials to maintain stringent law enforcement so that criminals are deterred. He stressed that offenders must face speedy punishment and instructed authorities to further strengthen a strict surveillance and action plan to check the movement of ganja and other narcotics.
During a high-level review, the Chief Minister also focused on advancing innovation in the state. He called for nurturing creative thinking among students through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub and building a strong innovation ecosystem in collaboration with global firms such as NVIDIA. He also proposed a pilot project using drones to deliver emergency medical services in remote agency areas.
The meeting, attended by Chief Secretary Sai Prasad and senior officials, reviewed departmental performance and public service delivery. The Chief Minister instructed that all government welfare hostels must be fully prepared with adequate infrastructure before schools reopen.
He made it clear that by June, there should be no complaints regarding basic amenities like toilets and RO drinking water in hostels. Despite funds being allocated for upgrades, any shortcomings would be treated as administrative negligence. Officials were asked to conduct regular inspections to maintain standards in food quality, water supply, and sanitation .
He pointed to Tadipatri as a benchmark for sanitation practices and urged effective implementation of the Jaladhara initiative to ensure water availability in ponds and reservoirs across the state.
