AP Governor Abdul Nazeer pays courtesy call on Vice President Radhakrishnan

Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer met Vice-President of India C.P. Radhakrishnan at the Vice-President’s Enclave in New Delhi on Friday during a courtesy visit.

The meeting was part of the formal protocol followed between constitutional authorities. According to official sources, the Governor called on the Vice-President to convey his greetings and best wishes following Mr. Radhakrishnan’s assumption of office as the 15th Vice-President of India.

Mr. Radhakrishnan was sworn in on September 12, 2025, succeeding Jagdeep Dhankhar, at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office.

Friday’s meeting marked the first interaction between the Andhra Pradesh Governor and the new Vice-President since his assumption of office. While no detailed agenda was released, officials described the meeting as a courtesy call, a customary gesture aimed at strengthening institutional relations between the Centre and the States.

The discussions were understood to have focused on general matters of governance and coordination between the Union and State governments. No policy matters or specific issues were officially disclosed.

The meeting took place at the Vice-President’s Enclave, the official residence and office of the Vice-President of India, located on Maulana Azad Road in New Delhi. The complex frequently hosts diplomatic and official courtesy meetings with dignitaries from across the country.

Governor Abdul Nazeer, a former Supreme Court judge, has been serving as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh since February 13, 2023.

Such interactions, officials noted, are an essential part of India’s federal framework, reinforcing communication and cooperation between the offices of the Vice-President and the Governors of various States.
