AP Gets Additional ₹4,597 Crore in Central Tax Share, Chandrababu Thanks PM Modi
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman after the Centre sanctioned an additional ₹4,597 crore to the state under its share of central taxes. The Chief Minister conveyed his gratitude through a post on X on Sunday, describing the allocation as a significant boost to the state's development efforts.
Chandrababu Naidu said the amount has been released over and above the regular monthly devolution of central taxes, which the Union government generally transfers to states around the 10th of every month. He noted that the additional allocation would provide Andhra Pradesh with greater financial flexibility and strengthen the government's ability to implement its development agenda more effectively.
According to the Chief Minister, the fresh funds will help accelerate the pace of ongoing development programmes, while also supporting the execution of welfare initiatives and critical infrastructure projects across the state. He said the enhanced financial support would enable the government to meet the resource requirements of several priority schemes and ensure faster implementation of projects aimed at improving public welfare and economic growth.
Expressing his appreciation on behalf of the people of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu thanked both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the Centre's continued support. He observed that the Union government's consistent cooperation has played a vital role in advancing development across multiple sectors in the state.
The Chief Minister further stated that the release of the additional tax share would strengthen Andhra Pradesh's financial position and provide the resources needed to carry forward its long-term development plans. He expressed confidence that the allocation would help maintain the momentum of infrastructure creation, welfare delivery, and public investment, ultimately contributing to faster economic progress.
Reiterating the importance of the Centre's support, Chandrababu Naidu said the additional ₹4,597 crore would serve as a catalyst for the state's development, enabling the government to speed up key projects and deliver greater benefits to the people of Andhra Pradesh.
