AP Extends SIR Timeline, Final Electoral Rolls Now Due on October 9

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls has been extended to September 10, 2026, giving eligible voters in Andhra Pradesh additional time to submit claims and objections.

The deadline, which was earlier set to conclude on August 30, has now been extended until September 10, 2026, State Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav announced on Tuesday. The extension gives voters an additional 11 days to apply for the inclusion of their names or raise objections related to the electoral rolls.

The revision exercise is being conducted across all Assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh, with July 1, 2026, serving as the qualifying date for the process.

The Election Commission has also revised the subsequent schedule for examining claims and objections. The process of issuing notices and disposing of applications has been extended until October 5.

As a result, the publication of the final electoral rolls has been rescheduled for October 9, 2026.

The extended timeline is expected to provide another opportunity for eligible citizens to ensure that their names are included in the voter list. Those seeking corrections or wishing to raise objections regarding entries in the electoral rolls can also make use of the additional time provided under the revised schedule.
