
AP Distributes 2.5 Lakh Houses in Second Phase of Housing for All
Taking another major step towards fulfilling the dream of home ownership for the poor, the State government has initiated a landmark programme under its ‘Housing for All’ mission. As part of the mass house-warming initiative, 2.5 lakh houses will be handed over simultaneously across the State in the second phase today .
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will participate in the mega event at Sullurupeta constituency in Tirupati district , where he will personally take part in house-warming ceremonies along with beneficiaries.
5.50 lakh houses in 21 months
Within a short span of coming to power, the coalition government has recorded significant progress in the housing sector for the poor . In November last year , the first phase saw the distribution of 3 lakh houses at Rayachoti , and now an additional 2.5 lakh houses have been completed.
Of these, 1 lakh are TIDCO houses , while the remaining 1.5 lakh houses have been constructed under rural and urban housing schemes. In total, 5.50 lakh permanent houses have been provided within just 21 months , underlining the government’s commitment.
According to the official schedule, the Chief Minister will leave Amaravati at 10:00 AM and arrive at Pudur in Naidupeta mandal at 11:50 AM . He will inaugurate the TIDCO housing complex there and participate in house-warming ceremonies at beneficiaries’ homes.
Later, at 12:40 PM , he will address a public meeting and also hold a review with local leaders and party workers.
After concluding the housing programme, the Chief Minister will reach Tirupati at 4:35 PM . He will attend the first anniversary celebrations of the ‘P4’ programme , organised at the Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium in Sri Padmavati Women’s University , which focuses on poverty alleviation.
Following the event, he is scheduled to return to Amaravati at 8:50 PM . In view of the Chief Minister’s visit, the Tirupati district administration has made elaborate arrangements .
