AP Deputy CM Calls for Greater Transparency in Panchayat Raj Department

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has directed officials to ensure complete transparency and accountability in all development works taken up by local bodies across the state.

During a review meeting with senior officials of the Panchayat Raj and Panchayat Raj Engineering Departments, the Deputy CM stressed the need for transparent governance alongside improved rural infrastructure. He instructed officials to develop a public dashboard enabling citizens to monitor road works, ongoing projects, and the condition of village roads in real time.

Pawan Kalyan ordered the Panchayat Raj Engineering Department to fix clear project timelines and maintain strict quality standards. He also asked senior officials to conduct regular inspections and respond promptly to public grievances related to infrastructure works.

Reviewing the performance of the Swarna Panchayat Portal , the Deputy Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over transparent online tax collection during the 2025–26 financial year. He urged gram panchayats to strengthen their revenue sources and continue efforts toward financial self-sufficiency.

He also directed officials to coordinate with the Revenue and Survey Departments for the smooth implementation of the Centre’s SVAMITVA land survey programme.

Praising the success of the Swachha Ratham initiative under solid waste management, Pawan Kalyan said the programme has shown encouraging results in rural areas, with villagers voluntarily exchanging dry waste for essential commodities. Officials informed the meeting that nearly 18.86 lakh kilograms of dry waste worth around ₹3 crore were collected through the initiative in April alone.

The Deputy CM further instructed officials to expand the successful Green Shop pilot project from Tirupati district across the state and intensify awareness campaigns on sanitation and waste management in villages.
