AP conducts phase 3 of mega Parent–Teacher meet, Emphasises student growth

The third phase of the Mega Parent–Teacher Meeting (Mega PTM 3.0) was held on Friday across government schools and junior colleges in Andhra Pradesh, bringing together over one crore parents, teachers, and students in a festive, educational atmosphere. The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between parents and educators for the overall development of children.

Unlike traditional meetings that focus solely on report cards, the Mega PTM emphasised in-depth discussions on each student’s academic performance, learning abilities, skill development, attendance, and behaviour. Teachers shared personalised reports with parents and explained a 100-day action plan derived from recent baseline tests. Guidance was provided on how parents can support their children’s learning at home, and teachers demonstrated how tools such as tablets, Jadui Pitara kits, and other learning resources enhance classroom outcomes.

Schools were decorated to create a celebratory environment, with students welcoming parents using handmade invitation cards. Year-long projects and creative works were showcased through student portfolios, while improvements under the Mana Badi Nadu-Nedu programme, such as upgraded classrooms and facilities, were presented to parents.

At the Andhra Pradesh Model School in Bhamini, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the chief guest, addressed students and educators, stressing the importance of guidance and holistic development. “Children are precious gems buried in the soil… with the right guidance, they can achieve wonders,” he said.

A key feature of the event was the promotion of the LEAP mobile application among parents. The app offers child-safety resources on topics such as good touch and bad touch, videos on positive parenting, and materials aligned with the NIPUN Andhra initiative to help parents understand minimum learning competencies in foundational subjects like language and mathematics.

The Mega PTM also highlighted initiatives to make learning enjoyable and stress-free. The Chief Minister announced the ‘Kalalaku Rekkalu’ scheme to support higher and overseas education, offering low-interest loans to students aspiring to study abroad. He also emphasised that children should not be pressured to study excessively; instead, learning should be made engaging through activities like Bag-less Days on Saturdays. High-performing students will receive Shining Stars Awards, and extra support will be provided to those who are academically lagging.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also attended a Mega PTM event held in Palnadu district, reflecting the state government’s ongoing focus on strengthening the bond between parents, teachers, and students, and ensuring quality education across Andhra Pradesh.
