Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged leading banks and financial institutions to set up regional offices in Amaravati and actively participate in the state’s development projects.

Speaking to top executives of banks and insurance companies during an interaction in Vijayawada, the Chief Minister said Amaravati is being developed as an international-level city, offering vast opportunities for financial growth and investment. He stressed that the banking sector must play a proactive role in shaping the capital into a hub of economic activity.

Naidu outlined the state government’s ongoing projects in urban infrastructure, industry, and capital development, and invited financial institutions to extend both credit support and long-term investments. “Amaravati is poised to emerge as a city of global standards. This is the time for institutions to seize the opportunities and become partners in building the future of Andhra Pradesh,” he said.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Lok Sabha Subordinate Legislation Committee’s visit to Vijayawada. Senior ministers, officials, and members of the committee participated in the discussions, along with the top management of several national banks, insurance firms, and financial corporations.

The Chief Minister’s appeal is seen as part of his broader strategy to position Amaravati as a financial and commercial hub while attracting investment that can accelerate the state’s development.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s appeal to banks to set up regional offices in Amaravati reflects both economic and strategic priorities. A strong financial presence would help position Amaravati as a credible hub, reducing dependence on metros like Hyderabad and Chennai.

With massive infrastructure and capital projects underway, locally based banks can play a key role in mobilizing credit and investments. Their presence would also boost investor confidence, encouraging private players in real estate, IT, and industry to bet on the capital region.

Regional offices would create jobs in banking and insurance while supporting allied sectors such as housing, hospitality, and retail. Politically, the move reinforces Naidu’s vision of Amaravati as a world-class capital and signals that the government is actively bringing institutions and opportunities to the state.
