Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu embarked on a three-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday to promote investment opportunities in the state and invite industrialists and foreign officials to the upcoming CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam on November 14–15, 2025, according to a post by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Twitter.

The CM traveled from Amaravati to Hyderabad in the morning before taking off for the UAE. This visit is part of Naidu’s long-standing strategy to engage overseas investors and the Telugu diaspora to support infrastructure, IT, ports, and industrial development in Andhra Pradesh.

During his three-day UAE trip, Naidu is scheduled to meet representatives of several business organizations, including PNC Menon of Sobha Group, Sharafuddin Sharaf (Sharaf Group), Ramesh Ramakrishna (Transworld Group), and Rachel of Binance, to discuss investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh. He will also attend a roadshow to promote the upcoming CII Partnership Summit and visit the Dubai Future Museum.

On October 23, the CM is expected to visit BAPS Mandir alongside UAE Minister of Investments Alsuwaidi and participate in a business roundtable. He will meet industry leaders such as Nasser Al Muhairi (ADNOC), Mansoor Al Mansoori (G42 International), Yusuf Ali (Lulu Group), Salmeen Alameri (Agthia Group), among others. On the final day, Naidu will tour attractions at YAS Island, including Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi, and Sea World, while also meeting UAE Ministers Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi (Foreign Trade) and Abdulla Bin Touq Almarri (Economy).

The visit will conclude with participation in the Emirates Business Roundtable and a Telugu diaspora event organized by the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS).

Historical Context and Expectations

This is not Naidu’s first visit to the UAE. During his previous tenure as CM (2014–2019), he undertook multiple trips to Dubai and Abu Dhabi to promote investment in Andhra Pradesh, particularly for the capital city of Amaravati. These visits led to the signing of MoUs with UAE-based companies such as Sobha Group and Emaar Properties for real estate projects and IT parks. While some small-scale projects were implemented, large-scale investments were partially stalled due to political transitions after 2019.

Naidu has also visited other countries for investment promotion, including the USA, UK, Singapore, Germany, Japan, France, Switzerland, Qatar, Oman, and Canada. His outreach focused on sectors such as IT, infrastructure, logistics, manufacturing, and financial services. While MoUs were signed with companies and diaspora investors, actual capital inflows were limited, with most tangible projects in real estate and IT. Estimates suggest that total investment implemented from all these countries prior to 2019 was less than ₹2,500 crore, with some investments diverted to Telangana/Hyderabad for stability.

The 2025 UAE visit reflects Naidu’s continued emphasis on attracting foreign investment, engaging with the Telugu diaspora, and positioning Andhra Pradesh as an investment-friendly state, while also providing global investors a firsthand view of opportunities in sectors such as infrastructure, logistics, ports, IT, and industrial development.
