AP CEO Preps Officials Ahead of Special Voter List Update

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer , Vivek Yadav , conducted a key training session at the Secretariat on Wednesday to ensure effective implementation of the upcoming Special Revision (SR) of voter lists. The program provided Deputy District Election Officers with detailed guidance on their roles in the process.

Fifteen commissioners and two additional commissioners from municipal corporations across the state including Visakhapatnam , Srikakulam , Eluru , Guntur , Nellore , Kurnool , Chittoor , and Tirupati participated. Recently appointed for the Special Revision, the officials were briefed on their responsibilities and the step-by-step procedures required for accurate voter list updates.

CEO Vivek Yadav stressed the critical importance of maintaining complete and accurate voter records to uphold electoral integrity. He highlighted the pivotal role of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in registering voters correctly, implementing modifications, and conducting deletions or corrections where necessary, while urging officers to ensure BLOs receive proper training.

The session also included practical guidance on using the BLO-App for digital mapping and efficient data management, including cross-verifying current voter lists with 2002 records to minimize errors.

Officials said the training clarified their responsibilities and would help conduct the voter list revision efficiently. Authorities noted that such measures are key to strengthening transparency and public trust in the electoral process.
