The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu , on Friday took key decisions aimed at accelerating industrial growth and fast-tracking pending irrigation projects on a war-footing. The 45th Cabinet meeting, held at Velagapudi Secretariat, approved measures on industrial land regularisation, employment schemes for unemployed youth, and significant funding for Amaravati construction projects, said Minister for Information and Public Relations, Kolusu Parthasaradhi .

In view of ongoing international tensions between the U.S. and Iran , the government has constituted a ministerial panel to assess potential economic impacts on the state. The panel will monitor any disruption in fuel supply or rise in energy prices, and ensure uninterrupted fuel availability for hospitals and educational institutions by preparing a priority list, the government instructed.

To expedite investments, the Cabinet decided to remove technical constraints on nearly 75,000 acres of land previously allocated by APIIC . Currently listed under prohibited assets (Section 22-A), these lands prevent industrialists from availing bank loans. The Cabinet gave the green signal to immediately remove 66,157 acres from the prohibited list, which is expected to accelerate project construction and generate employment for local youth.

The government approved the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Employment Generation Programme (AP-CMEGP) for youth willing to set up industries in MSME parks across 175 constituencies. With a budget of ₹300 crore , the scheme is expected to provide employment to around 17,000 people. Special subsidies of 25–35% margin money will be provided to SC, ST, BC, women, and differently-abled industrialists.

The Cabinet approved ₹2,316.88 crore for MEP works—electrical, plumbing, AC, and fire safety—in various departmental buildings of the Amaravati Secretariat. Additionally, funding of ₹119 crore has been sanctioned to construct a state-of-the-art Telugu Cultural Centre to showcase the richness of Telugu language and culture.

The government aims to complete the Polavaram project by June 2026. To facilitate this, ₹48 crore has been allocated for additional machinery in the right canal tunnel works, and old contracts for the left canal will be replaced with new works valued at ₹76.87 crore . Over ₹11,000 crore has been sanctioned for various projects across the state to ensure drinking water security.

The Cabinet also approved the promotion of 300 head constables to Assistant Reserve Sub-Inspectors , the establishment of 30 new Sakhi Nivas hostels for women’s safety, and allocation of valuable land in Noojivindu, Palasa, and Nandigama for central universities, underscoring its commitment to social security and education.
