The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years of public service as the head of government, while approving a series of key decisions concerning healthcare, education, welfare, horticulture and land administration.

The resolution was adopted at the 1,395th (58th) Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat. The Cabinet praised Modi’s leadership for developments in infrastructure, technology-driven governance, welfare delivery, innovation and self-reliance, besides appreciating his efforts to strengthen cooperative federalism and enhance India’s standing on the global stage.

The Cabinet approved the Andhra Pradesh Horticulture Information and Management System (APHIMS) to collect, manage and analyse data related to horticultural crops. The project will be designed and implemented by M/s Vassar Labs IT Solutions Private Limited.

In a welfare measure, eligible ASHA workers who die while in service will receive gratuity of ₹5,000 for every completed year of service, subject to a maximum of ₹1.50 lakh. The scheme will involve an estimated expenditure of ₹2.19 crore during 2026-27.

The 30-bed Community Health Centre at Repalle in Bapatla district will be upgraded into a 100-bed Area Hospital, with 66 additional posts. The Cabinet also approved the inclusion of 58,601 more students under the Thalliki Vandanam scheme, taking the total number of eligible beneficiaries to 68,05,791.

Diet charges for students staying in welfare hostels, residential schools, KGBVs and model schools have been increased by 10%, benefiting around 6.28 lakh students.

For tribal students, a Centre of Excellence at Marikavalasa in Visakhapatnam will provide residential IIT-JEE and NEET coaching to 600 Intermediate students, with equal seats for boys and girls.

The Cabinet also approved land-related measures, including regularisation of long-standing encroachments in NTR district and allocation of government land for temple and residential school development.

It further approved amendments to simplify the registration of private schools, while retaining mandatory safety, sanitation and infrastructure standards. A new policy will also facilitate campuses of foreign and reputed private universities in Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, a ministerial committee will examine house-site issues and submit recommendations within 45 days, including measures to reallocate unused plots and address land requirements for nearly two lakh beneficiaries identified in the recent Awaas survey.
